Mindreader​,​ an interactive theatre experience​ that started in 2013 in Chicago’s Public House Theater​, is a live-action video game as much as it is a ​performance. ​Audience members/players enter ​in small groups, proceeding through multiple rooms, interacting with performers in order to advance to the next room. Players must solve a series of puzzles individually​​, aided by their own super-power: they can read minds (through the magic of theatre). This power allows the players to manipulate the performers, resulting in moments comedic and dramatic, and sometimes terrifying.
